The Pentland Hills Chess Club meets at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday from the beginning of September to the end of May each year, and caters for players of all standards from beginner to strong club players.

 

The club meets at the Glencorse Centre, 4 Firth Road, Auchendinny, PENICUIK, EH26 0QZ.

 

New members are welcome to come along, or phone the Secretary on 0131-440 1618 in advance.

 

The Club has around 25 members, runs two club competitions, has three teams in the Edinburgh Chess League, one team competing in the Edinburgh Allegro Chess League, and one team competing in the Scottish National Chess League. The Club was founded in 1985 and is affiliated to Chess Scotland.

 

Club membership fees are £60 per year, with new members enjoying a 50% reduction for the first year.

The club is closed for the Summer.  Our first club night of the new season will be Tuesday 3rd September.

 

Pentland Hills lost against Wandering Dragons in the Quarter Final of the Summer Cup.

 

Robin Bauld wins the Club Championship with a score of 5½/7.

 

Walter Pearson wins the Founders Cup with a score of 4/5.
